Canberra Trip June 2009

We had a lovely weekend away to Canberra. We stayed in a hotel where Emma was totally thrilled to be sleeping on bunk beds. We visited the Children's Science museum Questacon. We all just loved it. Ethan was taken with the robotic dinosaurs which 'talked' they were very life like. Both loved Mini Q and all the opporunities for water play and pretend play. Mat went on the big drop slide and loved it. We also visited Parliament. On the way home the GPS system decided that the most direct route home to Tumbarumba was via 2 hours of dirt roads. Luckily it wasn't dark and only midday! We did stumble upon the tiny town of Wee Jasper which actually had the hidden gem of a huge cave which we also timed it perfectly to explore. Oh - and the random picture of sheep would be outside our house - I was laying in bed reading a book and who should wander past my window but a sheep and her lamb......very odd!

Our Land

We spent an hour today out on our land. Still no house - but contract is looming......Mat wanted to chop up the last few pieces of tree that were left and Emma and Ethan had a blast finishing up some wood gathering and bug collecting :) The mountain views are what we will see from the back of our house - from the formal lounge and kitchen. The other country view is from the playroom/dining room front of house. The big gum tree is to the left of the garage looking towards our neighbors property. Such a lovely winters day to be out and about. Sadly these pictures do not do the snow any justice.

A New Blog Start

I was sad to say goodbye to babyjellybeans but am excited about having a new place to share all that we do with our family.
We have been in Tumbarumba, NSW, Australia for just over a year.  It is a beautiful town at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and we are loving every part of small town life.
I hope that this blog is easy for you to navigate and stay in touch with us!
